Bike MS: Bike to Jack and Back Ride Details - October 4 & 5, 2014

The Bike MS: Bike to Jack and Back is a 2-day cycling event that raises funds to support people living with multiple sclerosis in the Mid South Region and throughout the United States. Money raised through this event funds MS research, programs, services, and advocacy. This year, over 600 cyclists and volunteers will participate in the event raising over $500,000 to create a world free of MS.

Cyclists get their choice of a 55 or 75-mile route option each day.

Your participation will aid in assisting support programs, services, and research that makes a huge difference to the people who must fight MS every day of their lives.

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society is dedicated to a vision of a world free of MS.

  EVENT DETAILS

This is a beautiful scenic ride through Tennessee's countryside just on the brink of fall.  Enjoy a tour of the incredible Jack Daniel's Distillery; feast on all of the Jack Daniel's fixin's that you can eat, as well as some Lynchburg Lemonade.  Get to know Jack!

Please note* No one under the age of 21 is allowed to ride in the Bike to Jack and Back. No volunteers under the age of 21 will be allowed on the Hill at Jack Daniel's Distillery

 

Accomdodations
Camping is available at Motlow State Community College. Cyclists may choose to stay at one of the area hotels (first come, first serve, and at the cost of the cyclists). 

Shuttles will run from Motlow Community College to the following hotels: 

  • Tullahoma Hampton Inn
  • Tullahoma Jameson Inn
  • Tullahoma Executive/Quality Inn
  • Lynchburg Country Inn
  • Tullahome Holiday Inn Express

Book your hotel through our partner T3 Travel. 

 Transportation
We will provide shuttles to and from the above listed hotels throughout Saturday and Sunday morning prior to the beginning of the ride. Shuttles will also take you to and from the Jack Daniel's Distillery for tours and to BBQ Hill for the Saturday evening dinner and program.

 Luggage
All
Cyclists will have the option of bringing 2 pieces of luggage VIBES (top fundraisers of $1,000+) can bring 3 pieces of luggage. Be sure to attach the luggage tags you receive with your registration packet. Saturday morning drop your bags off in the designated area. You will be able to pick your bags up at Motlow Community College on Saturday. Sunday morning drop your bags off again, and pick them up when you cross the finish line at Page High School in Franklin, TN.  


  

 ROUTE INFO

This ride is for all cyclists, offering short and long routes through the scenic countryside of Tennssee.  All routes are fully supported with rest stops every 8-12 miles, support and gear vehicles (SAGS), medics, and bike mechanics.

    JUST JACK - One Day Ride Option: Have a previous engagement or appointment that you have to get back for on Saturday night or not interested in riding in the second day of Jack? This year we will be offering a “Just Jack” ride option. This ride is a ONE day ride and will return to Page High School on October 4th. You can choose from these two options when registering

    BUS PROVIDED OPTION: This option is just a one day ride. It will leave from Page High School on October 4th and will travel to Motlow Community College. A bus will be provided to bring the cyclist from Motlow Community College back to Page High School. The bus will leave Motlow at 4pm. Registration for this option is $55 and the fundraising minimum is $300.

    CYCLIST WILL PROVIDE OWN TRANSPORTATION: This option is just a one day ride. It will leave from Page High School on October 4thand will travel to Motlow Community College in Lynchburg, TN. The cyclist is expected to prepare their OWN transportation from Motlow Community College back to Page High School. Registration for this ride is $35 and the fundraising minimum is $300.

Cue Sheets
Printed cue sheets will be available in the Page HS gym at check-in. These cue sheets will include an emergency number that you can call anytime during the ride to seek assistance.

*Please know that last minute route changes are sometimes necessary due to road closures and weather issues*  

Mechanics
If you find your bike needs some assistance during the ride, our participating bike shop mechanics will be at the start/finish and along the route.

Support and Gear Vehicles (SAG)
Special vehicles will be on the route to assist you. If you need help, pull off the road and give a thumbs down to the SAG vehicle and they will pick you up and move you forward to the next rest stop.
